Election Week

November 3, 2008

Cannot believe this is November already, and election day is tomorrow. Where did summer go? I so had wanted to plant a garden this past spring. Well, at least my husband planted a vegetable garden and managed to create an automatic watering system for our flower pots on our terrace. The flowers were gorgeous! It was nice to have breakfast every morning and be able to enjoy the wonderful perfusion of color. It is these colors that inspire me to be creative and motivates me to do to come up with different ideas for designs…..

Speaking of designs: Did I mention that the fall issue of Women’s Day featured one of our furniture pieces? Page 20, blue corner cupboard…..

PLEASE VOTE TOMORROW….ELECTION DAY!

Bright Ideas for Home and Garden Lighting

July 28, 2008

Just as you like to create a safe haven inside your home with a variety of lights, you’ll want to extend your sanctuary into your yard. With these bright ideas for your home and garden lighting, you will not only keep your family safe, but also comfortable and add ambiance to your space.

Lights, Lights, Lights – Ideas for Home and Garden Lighting

Stake LED or solar powered lights that follow the steps or go between levels, outside your home’s perimeter.

– Incorporate lights for safety near front and back doors, garage doors and along paths to your home. You may want to consider an automated system either with a timer or motion detector. With home and garden lighting, your family is sure to find their way to the door or garden area with ease.

– Provide motion lights over infrequently used doors.

Install porch posts wired for home and garden lighting. You’ll add ambiance and a unique touch to your patio. Look for fixtures which coordinate with your style and home’s exterior.

– Stake more solar powered lights near the deck and patio, as well in garden nooks and along walkways. Providing low level lights in these areas creates a welcoming atmosphere for family and friends. Using solar powered fixtures you can take advantage of a natural resource – guilt free.

Home and garden lighting can be affordable and still incorporate your outdoor style. Alicia Stanley and Company has many home and garden lighting ideas for you.
